An Autobiography of Road Train Pioneer and Bush Inventor Kurt Johannsen. He was born in 1915 at Deep Well Station, 50 miles south of Alice Springs. In 1945 he invented a self tracking trailer that changed the pastoral industry by making it possible for large cattle trains to negotiate bush tracks. The book is crammed pack fall of interesting information, photos from his life in the outback and more.

The book starts off with his early life before the war, continues on during the second world war with wood gas producers and mica mining. Caries on after the way building road trains, cattle transport, drum collecting, solar power and more. Up into the 50's there is mining, cattle transport again, and finally ending up in the 80's with retirement, and back to gas producers.
