This is basically a Dutch language book on the history of what is known as the "Brons" ignition systems. This system was used on a surprisingly large range of early diesel engines from all over the world. Countries of manufacture include Britain, South Africa, Australia, U.S.A., Japan, Canada, Russia and more.
Of the large number of manufacturers that used this early type of diesel engine ignition system, the following ones would be well known to us: Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies; Evinrude; Hercules; Fairbanks & Co; Cummins; Daihatsu; Ronaldson & Tippett; H.V. McKay (Sundiesel); Cliff & Bunting; and lastly the most famous and prolific of Australian uses of this system, A.H. McDonald.
Not all the Dutch text has been translated into English, but there is a run down on the history of the Brons company and a description of the Brons system in English, all the illustrations have the captions in three languages, so there is still enough English descriptions to make the purchase of this book worth while.
