Burt achieved 9 New Zealand and American speed records using a modified 1920 Indian Scout engine between 1940 and 1971. A major achievement as he competed against a host of more modern bikes. This is also the story of Burt's persistence and single minded determination to achieve what many thought was impossible. He managed to be competitive with his vintage 1920 Indian engine right up into the early 1970's.
