Subtitled Over 75 knots you should know. Published in 1995. Since World War II there has been a move towards the use of man made materials. These materials have many advantages, stronger, impervious to damp and rot, and long lasting.
These ropes require a different approach when knots are considered. As synthetic ropes are often made from strands of fibre (filaments) that go for the same length of the rope there are no projecting hairs or bristles, the filaments are also often smooth and even slippery, there is little for knots to grip on.
This book brings together knots that are suitable for cordage made from modern materials.
