Includes previously unpublished pictures and drawings. Garretts built over 500 engines in an interesting diversity of designs. They were involved with James Boydell and his early experiments in track-laying engines, and followed these with early self-movers and traction engines but withdrew from the market from 1885 -1895 when the agricultural depression was at its worst. Their 7NHP single was popular at home, but the range also included 4, 5, 6 and 8NHP tractions; straw-burners; vertical drum ploughing engines; showmen's engines, and road locos. A comprehensive list is included. A4 Hardback. 130 Illustrations.
